Potty Time with POTTYMINTS: Party Time! (Ep. 21)

Let’s Party POTTY People!

Its official baby! This is our 21st Episode of “Potty Time with POTTYMINTS!” … which can only mean one thing… LETS DRINK! (Legally!)

We figured in honor of our 21st episode, we would make this week’s theme about partying!

Let’s begin with a short, but true story: My Grandmother bought me an underwater pogo-stick for my 21st Birthday

With that being said, we feel comfortable moving on to this weeks main Party Story, courtesy of History, and more specifically British Lord Admiral Edward Russell!

You see, the year was 1694, and British Admiral Edward Russel, decided to throw his officers a party…

This was not going to be just any party, he wanted it to be remembered… and decided to do that by filling the garden fountain with the party’s punch bowl.

Yes, you read that correctly… The record for history's largest cocktail belongs to British Admiral Edward Russel who filled his GARDEN FOUNTAIN WITH PUNCH!

The concoction? A mixture that included:

  • 250 gallons of brandy
  • 125 gallons of Malaga wine
  • 1,400 pounds of sugar
  • 2,500 lemons
  • 20 gallons of lime juice
  • 5 pounds of nutmeg

Ready for this? A series of bartenders actually paddled around in a small wooden canoe, filling up guests' cups from the fountain.

Not only that, but they had to work in 15-minute shifts to avoid being overcome by the fumes and falling overboard.

The party continued nonstop for a full week, pausing only briefly during rainstorms to erect a silk canopy over the punch to keep it from getting watered down.

In fact, the festivities didn't end until the fountain had been drunk completely dry.

Insane. But as far as we can see online… Absolutely True!

Not to worry Potty People… we are only getting this Party started! Let’s hop into this week’s POTTY Picks!

Keeping in this week’s theme of Party’s, we decided to showcase a Video courtesy of a little show called Saturday Night Live.

On this Sketch Comedy show, they will sometimes feature a Digital Short…

In this sketch, entitled “Party Guys” watch as Andy Samberg and Bill Hader point out the usual characters of a house party

We guarantee you missed something… so go ahead and watch that again! (including a brief cameo of comedian, John Mulaney!)

“We like to Party… We Like, We Like to Party!”

As we have mentioned in previous blogs, we here at POTTYMINTS are lucky because we have two Dj’s in house to personally curate the music on our Potty Picks Playlist!

If you haven’t already done it, go ahead and click “Follow” on our Potty Picks Spotify Playlist, we update it with 5 New Songs every week! So to stay up to date on all our picks, like and follow the playlist!

This week, we decided to choose 5 of our current favorite Party tracks, featuring music from: MEDUZA, Oliver Heldens, MK, Louis La Roche and Diplo!

While we too are a bit bummed that Summer is coming to a close… we prefer to thinking of it as us all being one step closer to Pumpkin Spice Season!

“Aint no party, like a Pumpkin Spice Party!”

And while it is still hot enough to continue ordering Iced Beverages… there are other ways to enjoy the Pumpkin Spice experience… which brings us to this week’s Bathroom Moment of the Week!

Introducing, the Green Meadow Valley’s Pumpkin-Spice Scented Toilet Paper!

This seasonal toilet paper is actually real, and it's available to purchase by the roll. The scent, which is formulated with natural essential oils like clove, ginger, and cinnamon, isn't on the paper itself, but on the cardboard tube inside.

While we have seen a lot in the Bathroom Space… we have to admit… this is a first!

We hope you learned something new, got some new music for this upcoming week, and who can forget the Pumpkin Spiced Toilet Paper!

As you know, we like to send you into the week with some added motivation with a quote we can all use to learn and grow from, especially in the week ahead!

This week, we leave you with a quote from George Bernard Shaw, a playwright, critic, polemicist and political activist!

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old;
We grow old because we stop playing.”

George Bernard Shaw

We ask that this week, you never stop playing! Enjoy this week and we will see you next Monday for another episode of Potty Time with POTTYMINTS!
