POTTYMINTS: Top 5 Youtube Videos For August!

Hey POTTY People!

Happy August to you!

This week on the blog, we want to do exactly that… make your August, Happy!

How might we do that you ask? Great question!

When we here at POTTYMINTS are feeling down in the dumps (bathroom pun intended), we turn to the ultimate source of procrastinating – YouTube!

I remember showing my Grandpa Youtube for the first time, and like the beginning of an improv comedy show, asked him to give me any suggestion or word he had in mind.

He looked at me a bit perplexed, and gave me a word… “Senior Wences” a ventriloquist from the Ed Sullivan Show.

As I typed it in the search bar, my Grandpa looked on with great disbelief, as though I was Jesus Christ himself about to turn Water into Wine.

When I clicked on the first link and showed him the clip, he was in utter shock.

He genuinely believed that I had created YouTube…

Some might say there were tears of joy in his eyes… however, much to his and my own dismay – I could take no credit for the creation of YouTube… …but I could take partial credit for typing in the words “Senior and Wences”

Nonetheless, in trying times like these, it is very important to laugh and share laughter with friends and loved ones (at a safe distance of course)!

There is perhaps no better way to do that these days than by showing you some videos that we happen to enjoy…That my friends, is the power of YouTube.

So, this week, we present to you our Top 5 Favorite YouTube Videos for August!

#5
Buzz and the Dandelions

There are few things that are as universally funny as seeing a child laugh… and this particular video is no exception!

We love every part of this video! From the fathers blue hair, to his son’s name “Buzz”!

Best of all is his absolutely adorable reaction to seeing his father blow the pedals off the Dandelion!

TOO CUTE! And Buzz’s laugh (and teeth) are absolutely adorable!

#4
Ron Sneezes and Scares Deer

This one is an oldie but a goodie…

Ron and his wife are enjoying a beautiful winter day, watching a group of deer congregate around a bird feeder that the deer appear to have comman-deer-ed… (see what we did there? Pun very much intended again)

Ron suddenly sneezes, causing the Deer to disperse… and the short argument between Ron and his wife is a small glimpse into their relationship.

This 6 second clip is a YouTube Classic!

#3
History of the Entire World, I Guess

There are few masterpieces of YouTube art… this happens to be one.

Bill Wurtz if you aren’t familiar is an incredible Musician/Comedian/YouTuber who makes quirky, strange, but absolutely hilarious videos.

While this video is 19 minutes long, let’s all be honest… we’ve got the time

After all, we have already streamed the entire series of the Office twice since Quarantine Started.

You children are already learning via their computers, this may be one of the more enjoyable lessons they will get to have.

Gather the children, show them this Video and enjoy!

#2:
My Heat

Long before he was a featured player on Saturday Night Live, Kyle Mooney was making YouTube videos with his two roommates, who went by the name Good Neighbor.

Kyle reprises one of his most famous characters, a painfully awkward interviewer as he interviews people celebrating the Miami Heat Championship in 2012.

While we could have chosen literally any Good Neighbor video, we think this particular video is one of his funniest!

Also, with the NBA Playoffs starting tonight, we think that it is fitting!

#1:
Mambo #5 Live (Lou Bega and Andre Reiu)

This video is a personal favorite.

To refresh your memory… the year is 1999, Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and Smash Mouth’s “All Star” are at the top of the charts…

And then… out of nowhere comes… the one, the only… Lou Bega.

Although he had never released any previous versions of the song, nor had he released any music beforehand… his hit song “Mambo #5” takes the world by storm.

Years later, it is now regarded as one of the worst songs of all time.

However, the crowd in the Netherlands would have you thinking otherwise.

Every single part of this video is funny, from the song itself, to the outfits of the orchestra playing it, to the dance moves on display.

This is truly one of my favorite videos of all time.

Long live Lou Bega!
